Most business owners keep on top of their books for a while, then something takes priority and the spreadsheet falls a few weeks behind. A few weeks becomes a few months. Receipts pile up on a desk or sit unopened in an inbox, bank transactions go unreconciled, and the Xero dashboard starts showing a number nobody quite trusts.
None of that means you are bad at running a business. It usually means the business grew faster than the admin around it could keep up. That is where a named accountant earns their fee: someone who reconciles the accounts, chases the paperwork and keeps the numbers current, so your figures are never more than a few days old.
NDCA is an ACCA-regulated accountancy firm, providing outsourced bookkeeping and wider accounting support to businesses across the UK.
We take care of the bookkeeping. You run the business.
- Bank and credit card reconciliations
- Sales invoices and aged debtor tracking
- Purchase and supplier invoice processing
- Expense recording and receipt management
- VAT-ready bookkeeping
- Director’s loan account tracking
- Monthly accounting adjustments
- Profit and loss reporting
- Balance sheet reporting
- Cash position reporting
- Bookkeeping catch-up and repair where records have fallen behind, quoted separately
Not every client needs every item on this list. We agree the exact scope with you before you start, based on your transaction volume and how your business runs.
What good bookkeeping gives you
- Your actual profit, tracked throughout the year
- A clearer view of your cash position
- VAT records kept organised as you go
- Better decisions made before year-end, not after
- No growing backlog of bookkeeping to catch up on
- Clean records for your accountant to use for accounts and tax
- Less of your own time spent on admin
Why growing businesses choose NDCA for bookkeeping
- A named accountant
You get one named accountant who knows your business, not a rotating queue of support staff. You will have a real accountant to contact whenever you need help. - A fixed monthly fee
You know what you are paying before you start. No hourly billing, no meter running in the background, no invoice at the end of the month that catches you off guard. - Bookkeeping that fits the business
The frequency and scope of your bookkeeping is built around your transaction volume and how you actually operate, whether that is a weekly reconciliation or a monthly clean-up ahead of a management review. - More than bookkeeping
NDCA is an accountancy firm, not an outsourced data-entry service. Your bookkeeping can sit alongside VAT, payroll, corporation tax, self assessment and year-end accounts, all with the same accountant, under one fee.
Is it time to hand over your bookkeeping?
You probably do not need another bookkeeping system. You need someone to take responsibility for it.
You might be ready to outsource if:
- Evenings spent catching up on the accounts
- Bookkeeping that is regularly behind
- No clear read on actual profit
- Constant chasing of receipts and invoices
- An accountant who keeps asking for missing information
- A business that has grown beyond DIY bookkeeping
- A preference for running the business rather than doing the books
That is where NDCA can help.
Bookkeeping for UK businesses across a range of industries
Our clients range from technology and e-commerce companies to hospitality, professional services, property businesses and content creators. These are just some of the businesses we work with:
Technology and SaaS, AI businesses, e-commerce and online retail, hospitality, healthcare, agencies, consultants and freelancers, professional services, construction and trades, property businesses and landlords, content creators and influencers, online businesses, retail, startups and limited companies.
If you do not see your industry listed, that does not mean we cannot help.
Cloud accounting that keeps your numbers current
Already using Xero? We work with your existing account and bring your bookkeeping up to date.
Not using Xero? We help you move onto it.
That means bank feeds, automated transaction imports, digital records, clear financial reports and easier collaboration with your accountant.
Apron for invoice capture
Send your invoices and receipts digitally, and we capture and process them into your bookkeeping through Apron, included in your fee at no extra cost. Nothing to type in by hand.
How it works
- Tell us about your business. A few details on what you do, how you currently manage your books and what is not working.
- We review what you need. We look at your transaction volume, systems and reporting requirements to work out the right scope.
- We agree your fixed monthly fee. You see the number before anything starts. No surprises.
- You hand it over. Your dedicated accountant gets to work, and you get your time back.
The initial consultation is free and there is no obligation to go ahead.
A worked example: what a monthly reconciliation catches
Say a month’s bank feed shows 180 transactions. Reconciling them finds a supplier paid twice for £1,200, a £640 customer payment matched to the wrong invoice and £380 of card spending with no receipt.
Caught in the same month, the duplicate is refunded, the debtor list is right when you chase payment and the receipt can still be found. Caught at year-end, each one takes longer to fix and some cannot be fixed at all.
How much does bookkeeping cost?
There is no one-size-fits-all price. It depends on your transaction volume, how often you need your books updated and whether you want VAT, payroll or year-end accounts included. You will know your fixed monthly fee before you start.

Already have an accountant? You can still switch.
You do not need to wait until year-end to change who handles your bookkeeping. If you already have an accountant and the service is not working for you, we can handle the transition directly: we contact your existing accountant, request the information and records we need and pick things up from there. How long it takes depends mainly on how quickly your previous accountant sends the records across, and we keep you updated throughout.
