Know your Corporation Tax bill before it is due

A tax bill you only understand the week it is due is one you cannot plan for.

We aim to have your accounts and Corporation Tax computation ready well ahead of the deadline, so you know roughly what the company will owe in good time to plan your cash flow around it, not scramble for it.

Where your company qualifies, we also look at legitimate planning opportunities and reliefs, such as capital allowances, loss relief and pension contributions, before the return is filed rather than after.

What our corporation tax service covers

A named accountant prepares your corporation tax return alongside your annual accounts. That includes:

  • CT600 preparation and filing with HMRC
  • Corporation Tax computation built from your statutory accounts
  • Capital allowances claims, including the Annual Investment Allowance
  • Loss relief and group relief where applicable
  • R&D tax relief signposting where you may qualify
  • Director loan account review, including Section 455 tax where relevant
  • Dividend planning reviewed alongside the return
  • Corporation Tax registration for newly incorporated companies
  • HMRC correspondence, where this forms part of your engagement

If you also need your statutory accounts filed or your director’s personal tax return prepared, we handle both as part of the same engagement. No duplicated work, no separate invoice.

How NDCA works

What you can expect:

  • Fixed monthly fee
Corporation Tax is not billed separately. It sits inside the fixed monthly fee we agreed when you joined, so you know the cost twelve months ahead.
  • A named accountant
One accountant prepares your return and normally answers your questions directly the same day, not a ticket queue.
  • UK-wide, fully remote
We work with limited companies across the UK. Wherever your business is based, the service is the same.

Accurate accounts, accurate tax

A Corporation Tax computation is only as reliable as the accounts behind it. NDCA keeps your bookkeeping in Xero, reconciled through the year, with receipts and invoices captured digitally through Apron, so the figures behind your CT600 are already checked, not rebuilt at year-end.

If you are not yet on Xero, we move you across as part of onboarding. If you are already there, we plug straight in.

Who we work with

NDCA corporation tax clients fall into a few groups:

These are examples, not a full list. If your business is not here, send us a message and we will tell you straight away whether we can help.

A worked example: marginal relief

Say your company’s taxable profit for the year to 31 March 2027 is £100,000. At the 25% main rate the tax would be £25,000. Marginal relief reduces this by 3/200 of the gap between £250,000 and £100,000, which is £2,250, so the bill is £22,750.

That tax is due by 1 January 2028 and the return by 31 March 2028. The £50,000 and £250,000 limits are divided between associated companies, so a second company under the same control changes the result. We check this before the return is filed.

Year-end coming up?

The payment deadline is fixed, but the smart move is knowing what is owed long before it arrives. Send us a few details to get started.

Switching from another accountant

Already have an accountant? Switching is simpler than people think. We send a professional clearance letter, collect your records and handle the transition. How long it takes depends mainly on how quickly your previous accountant sends the records across, and we keep you updated throughout.

You do not need to wait for year-end. You do not need an awkward phone call. We handle it.

Corporation tax FAQs

A Corporation Tax accountant prepares your company accounts, calculates the Corporation Tax due, completes and files the CT600 with HMRC and advises on legitimate reliefs and planning opportunities. At NDCA, one named accountant handles this alongside your annual accounts.

Our fees start from £95 plus VAT a month for limited companies, with no setup fee. Self Assessment starts from £245 plus VAT as a one-off fee. You receive a fixed quote at the end of your free 30-minute call, based on your turnover, transactions, VAT, payroll and number of directors. Any records alignment or bookkeeping catch-up is quoted separately in writing before work starts.

Corporation Tax is generally due nine months and one day after the end of your accounting period. The CT600 return itself has a later deadline, twelve months after the period ends.

A CT600 is the Company Tax Return a limited company files with HMRC. It reports the company’s income, calculates the Corporation Tax due and is based on the Corporation Tax computation drawn from the statutory accounts. The CT600, the accounts and the computation are related but are three separate documents.

There is no single trick. Legitimate ways to manage a Corporation Tax bill include claiming the capital allowances and reliefs your company is entitled to, timing certain expenditure correctly and making use of loss relief where it applies. We review each client’s position individually rather than applying the same approach to every company.

A limited company can generally claim expenses that are wholly and exclusively for business purposes, such as staff costs, business premises, equipment, professional fees and business travel. Some costs, such as client entertainment, are not allowable. We review your expenses as part of preparing your accounts.

Capital allowances let a company deduct the cost of qualifying assets, such as equipment, machinery and some fixtures, from its taxable profit rather than treating them as a standard expense. The Annual Investment Allowance covers most qualifying purchases up to the current annual limit. We check what your company can claim as part of preparing your Corporation Tax computation.

A company that makes a loss does not pay Corporation Tax for that period, and the loss can usually be carried back, carried forward or in some cases set against other income, depending on the circumstances. A Company Tax Return is still normally required even where no tax is due.

Many directors also need to file a personal Self Assessment return, particularly where they take dividends or have other income outside PAYE. Corporation Tax and Self Assessment are separate filings that need to work together. NDCA can look after both, so the two returns line up.

Yes, at any point in the year. We handle the handover with your previous accountant and keep you updated until it is complete.

No, a director can file a Corporation Tax return without an accountant. In practice, most limited company owners use one to make sure the computation is correct, the right reliefs are claimed and the return is filed on time. NDCA prepares and files the return as part of a fixed monthly fee.
